List of Services.

The following is a list of the services we offer with a brief summary. Please click on any of the Service titles for more detail, including a full description and contact information.

  • Access Technology Demonstrations
    From time to time, Cam Sight invites the various companies who are involved in developing new access technologies to run a display and demonstration session at our offices in Green End Road.
  • Access Technology Training
    Cam Sight offers training, information and advice on making the most of the technological innovations that are available to visually impaired people.
  • Brailing and Audio Services
    Cam Sight offers a brailing and audio service for companies and others who need to provide their documents in alternative formats for their visually impaired clients.
  • British Wireless for the Blind Fund
    Cam Sight is an agent for British Wireless for the Blind, an organisation which lends a range of radios, tape and CD players to people who are registered blind or registered partially sighted only.
  • CamSight in Girton
    Pilot project for visually impaired persons in Girton.
  • Children and Parents project
    Project pushing for more joined up ways of working around services related to visually impaired children and parents.
  • Community Support Service
    If you prefer to be seen at home, one of our highly experienced Community Support Workers can arrange a personal visit.
  • Kitchen skills training
    Cam Sight has a specially designed kitchen area where we can help visually impaired people to develop their kitchen skills in a safe environment.
  • Low Vision Room
    We have a room dedicated to magnification devices and lighting, aimed at enabling partially sighted people to make best use of their remaining sight.
  • Quarterly Newsletter
    Every quarter, Cam Sight produces a newsletter full of practical advice and local information for visually impaired people in Cambridgeshire.
  • Rehabilitation Services
    Cam Sight currently has 2 rehabilitation workers who provide support and advice to visually impaired people by carrying out visits to their homes.
  • Resource centre
    We have one of the best resource centres for visually impaired people in the country, with over 700 items of specially modified equipment for demonstration and for sale.
  • Ring around service
    Cam Sight volunteers regularly make phone contact with local visually impaired people to let them know about forthcoming events, to find out if they require our services or just to chat.
  • Rural Link Scheme
    The Rural Link Scheme ensures that visually impaired people in Cambridgeshire villages don't miss out or suffer isolation.
